Privacy Policy (CallPilot)

Effective date: July 7, 2026

CallPilot ("the app") is developed by Eden Gabay. This Privacy Policy explains how CallPilot handles device, account, and call-related data across the Android app, backend API, and voice agent integrations.

1. What CallPilot does

CallPilot provides free local unknown-caller blocking on Android, with optional CallPilot Pro features for AI-assisted answering and family call safety, including:

  • Guest free local blocking (contacts + call-screening role)
  • Phone number sign-in with one-time passcode (OTP) when unlocking Pro
  • Pro unlimited AI call answering for unknown callers
  • Parent/guardian account linking for family visibility (Pro)
  • Incoming call summaries and call event history (Pro)
  • Google Play subscription purchase verification for Pro entitlement

2. Data collection and sharing

CallPilot uses both on-device processing and secure backend storage to provide account-based features.

  • We do not sell user data.
  • We do not use personal data for advertising.
  • We use role-based access controls so users can access only authorized data.

3. Data we process

Depending on enabled features and permissions, CallPilot may process:

  • Phone number and profile name used for sign-in and personalization
  • Incoming call metadata (caller number, contact match, timestamps)
  • Call transcript and voicemail event records from AI-handled calls
  • Family linkage records (parent/guardian relationship state)
  • Subscription and entitlement records for CallPilot Pro purchases
  • App preferences and local settings (theme, language, toggles)

This processing is used only to provide product functionality and account security.

4. Permissions used

CallPilot may request these permissions:

  • READ_CONTACTS - to check whether a caller is in your contacts
  • INTERNET - to communicate with CallPilot backend APIs
  • Call screening role / service access - to allow Android call screening behavior
  • POST_NOTIFICATIONS - to show optional call activity notifications
  • RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED - to restore scheduled daily digest after reboot

Permissions are used only for described app features.

5. Data retention

CallPilot stores account and call-history data for active service operation and account recovery. On-device settings can be removed by clearing app data or uninstalling the app.

6. Third-party services

CallPilot may rely on third-party infrastructure providers for hosting, messaging, and voice processing. We do not use ad SDKs for user tracking.

7. Children

CallPilot is not specifically directed to children under 13.

8. Security

Data is stored using Android app sandboxing and standard platform protections. No system can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to minimize risk.

9. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The latest version should always be available at the published Privacy Policy URL.
